The Stelvio Beer is named after the historic Stelvio Pass road, which runs through the mountains of the Stelvio National Park. The main feature of the area is undoubtedly the springs from which fresh, pure mountain water flows.
The logo used for the beer contains two predominant colours: gold and white. They recall the colour of the beer and its foam. There would be a third colour in the background: red, a clear tribute to the town of Bormio, where the production plant for this heavenly liquid is located.
Every beer contains vitamins, especially those of the B group. This group includes folic acid, which is very useful for iron absorption and blood formation. The less it is filtered and pasteurised, the more vitamins will be present in the drink. The production of Birra Stelvio is constantly being updated: at regular intervals, the brewery brings a new beer to the market. This is no joke: the birth of a new beer is the result of careful study. The Sondrio brewery produces classic bottom-fermented beers, such as lager and Pilsner, as well as special beers, such as buckwheat beer or beer made with organic ingredients. There are also beers with high fermentation, such as the Weizen beer made with wheat malt and the Dahu beer, the double malt beer, the "red" beer. As for special beers, the latest product is Re-Beck beer, inspired by American ales.
The raw materials are chosen with care and attention: the best malts of different origins depending on the type of beer to be produced (the main countries are Belgium, Germany, England and Italy). In addition to the malt, the finest hops and yeasts are selected to complete the preparation of the drink.
But what makes the difference is only one thing: the water, which flows pure and fresh from the uncontaminated mountains of the Stelvio area: this ingredient gives a very special taste, the main characteristic of the Stelvio Beer.
